The Organisation

The Australia Day Council of South Australia (ADCSA) is an independent, non-profit, membership-based association located in Adelaide’s CBD. The organisation exists to celebrate our identity and the values that unite us and to promote a welcoming, inclusive society.

The ADCSA hosts major events and programs that focus on Australia Day and the stories that surround our national identity, together with highlighting the achievements of inspirational Australians.

The role

The newly created position of Events, Marketing and Communications Manager is being offered on a full time, two-year contract basis and is responsible for the coordination of all major events conducted by the ADCSA.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and coordinating the Australia Day in the City, Australia Day luncheon, Australian of The Year functions and the Citizen of the Year awards, as well as other activities and programs
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Development and implementation of digital marketing and communications strategies including social media management, website management and producing monthly e-newsletter

Skills and Experience

Due to the significance of this position, it is essential that you have previous experience coordinating large major events as well as digital marketing expertise.

To be successful in the role you will possess highly developed communication skills with the ability to build strong, ongoing partnerships with funding bodies and other key stakeholders.

A high level of attention to detail is a must, as are exceptional time management and organisational skills. Confident in your knowledge and abilities, you will be self-sufficient, able to work with minimal direction and will have highly developed decision-making skills.

Working within a small team environment it is imperative that you are someone who takes initiative and genuinely enjoys being hands-on.

Tertiary qualifications in event management, marketing or another related discipline will be highly regarded.
