Core Lithium is an ASX-listed company that owns one of Australia’s highest-grade lithium resources in the Finniss Lithium Project, in the Northern Territory.

As the company continues to strengthen and evolve and with the announcement of a Final Investment Decision and start of preconstruction works, Core Lithium is seeking to appoint an Financial Accountant responsible for undertaking, reviewing and maintaining financial administration and controls to provide highly effective, accurate and reliable financial information.

The Role

Within this newly created role, you will be an integral member of the recently established finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will have day-to-day responsibilities including:

  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial and management reports
  • Preparation of cash flow statements
  • Assisting in managing the annual external review and audit process
  • Collection and analysis of data for use in weekly and monthly forecasts
  • Preparation of statutory and legislative compliance reporting including but not limited to BAS, GST, PAYE, FBT
  • Advising on estimates for project funding
  • General ledger and trial balance reconciliations and controls
  • Maintain effective administration of fixed assets register
  • Assisting in the development, implementation and review practices and procedures
  • Development and maintain positive relationships with internal clients, industry contacts and external stakeholders
  • Provide backup and support to the finance team
Skills and Experience

To be an integral member of the Core Lithium finance team, you will have CPA or CA qualifications together with experience from within the accounting profession (audit or business services) or a similar role.  Experience within or knowledge of the mining industry preferred. You will possess excellent communication skills enabling the ability to engage with and support a range of stakeholders from non-financial backgrounds and maintain strong positive working relationships.

Other requirements include:

  • Experience with the use of an ERP software and Advanced Excel
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Ability to establish credibility and gain the confidence across all levels of the organisation.
  • Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
