About the Role

As the Material Controller, you will focus on the procurement of parts and materials for the scheduled build of vehicles at the manufacturing facilities.   You will be responsible for analysing,  ordering and expediting the supply of parts and materials.  As well as a significant part of this role, will be the continual monitoring of inventory levels through cycle counting, along with receipting and issuing of parts and materials.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Group Production and Material Planning Manager, you will be responsible for

  • Verification of production parts and material requirements
  • Point of contact for assigned pre-approved suppliers.
  • Placement of orders within pre negotiated supplier agreements
  • Maintenance of the material plan using ERP system
  • Monitor availability of materials, advising of potential shortages
  • Follow-up orders for shipment and delivery confirmation.
  • Expedite urgent requirements as advised by Logistics / Warehouse
  • Assess and distribute future requirements forecasts
  • Control and ordering of consumables based on usage
  • Review outstanding orders regarding overdue delivery timing
  • Assist in the investigation of cycle count and stocktake variations
  • Measure and report key materials planning metrics
  • Identify and analyse differences to the sourcing plan
  • Provide support and liaise with the purchasing and warehouse teams
About You

To be successful in this expanding organisation, you will have previous experience as a Material Controller or Planner, bringing with you strong communication, analytical skills and IT systems technical ability. The ability to maintain a precise and frequent communication with suppliers will be a core aspect of this position.  Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment would be highly regarded.

In addition, you will possess:

  • Strong practical experience with ERP systems
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to manage data in an accurate, timely and accessible manner
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, well-organized, and professional manner
  • Ideally skilled in Excel and other Microsoft Office Applications
